• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Craft Chat Wolfpack Publishing: Anyone know anything about them?

A.I. is good for some things:

Yes, Wolfpack Publishing is a legitimate, traditional independent book publisher founded in 2013 and based in Las Vegas, Nevada. They do not charge authors upfront fees to publish, focusing instead on digital and print sales—notably specializing in Westerns, action-adventure, and thriller genres alongside imprints like Wise Wolf Books and Rough Edges Press.

The only problem I see with Wolf Pack is that they work in an area that I never read or write. On the other hand, I'm curious to see what Westerns are like in 2026 and could consider searching the library for one when I'm back in the States. I'll bet that with a bit of poking around, you could find five or six more like them - indeed, their addresses alone would give them away.

In the USA, publishers like this one (and there are hundreds across dozens of specialties) make up the majority of what you see in bookstores and libraries. I suspect it's the same in most other places too, but I have no way of checking. However, the next time you're in a bookstore, spend some time investigating what percentage of titles are from the big 5, smaller companies like Wolf Pack, and if there are any self-published books at all.
