Poor guy was quite shocked, possibly bone broken - at least I got him out, watching petrol flood out is never a good sign. Driver was quite shocked, too. As you say, a weird start to the day - after my gd samaritan turn, just walked on as if nothing had happened...

Somebody else would have pulled him out if I didn't, it was rush hour. 30 secs of panic and then walking down the steeet normally again! Most odd. Hope I didn't hurt him, it occured to me that I mght have made any break worse...

If you'd made a break worse, you would have known it by his screams (or terrifying silence). Once upon a long time ago, I used to be a biker. Believe me, the guy will be telling stories about you for the rest of his days – you'll always be his hero.

Yes, can see that (re screams). He was as worred as i was about petrol, that's what you see in the movies, innit? If I had to do it again, the sensible thing would have been to lift the bike up first (stopping flow) so that someone else could have pulled him clear. Ah well, next time...
