If you haven't tried already I would post your first chapter or two here and ask for some advice before ditching the whole project. It can't do any harm and might do a lot of good.

I have done all of those things. Many times. Over decades. I'm starting to think what I thought was the one story I felt was worth trying to share with the world isn't worth holding onto.

@Steve C , I have done that as well, on both incarnations of Litopia. Numerous people here have found varying levels of merit in it, but every publisher and agent on the planet disagrees, it seems.

Personally, I would go cold on it for a while Lex, start another story, maybe even just a short story. Or even better put it up in the writing room, that's what I would do and there are many new faces and writers here these days, more the merrier. Let us help you :)

I've done all that, and I can no longer access the writing rooms. Even when I could, it was the same damned story: get feedback, improve and polish, get more rejections.
