I think that the issue was caused by a bug in version 2.2.1-1, as supplied in Linux Mint 19.3 repository. I updated to 2.4.2, which could open some chapters, but six were lost—so, I've re-recorded them—which will likely take 60 hours to re-master. This is a good example of 'Life is what happens to you, while you're planning to do other things.'
