The confident person considers themselves pretty perfect too.
Not in the sense that there's nothing to improve - they find ways to do that daily. But in the sense that they know they are always 'good enough'. And that their worth isn't dependant upon how society (or even themselves) judges their behaviour and achievements.
It can look like arrogance. It isn't. The difference is this - the arrogant person thinks they're better than others; the confident one knows we are all perfect.
