The good part about getting older is you stop trying to prove anything to anyone, including yourself. All you are in the pursuit of is collecting experiences - beautiful, fragile little soap bubbles that you store in your heart, and every once in a while you pull one out and gaze at the delicate pictures it shows you.

Twinkle, is your name REALLY Twinkle, what most of us like about getting older is pleasing other people. Being a cool enough person that younger people want to hang out with you despite the creaky knees and close resemblance to Madame Mim from that animated film Disney made from TH White's Once and Future King.

"getting older" Eh, Twinkle, how old are you? If you think you're old, then you are maybe simply in denial about having to prove anything to yourself.

Also a very broad statement without any age-link. As a child gets older and moves into those turbulent teenage years, the internally driven task of having to prove to others and to themselves grows to gargantuan levels. As that teenager becomes a young adult, enters the workforce (or fails to), only the rarest exception doesn't feel that pressure to prove their worth. As people enter their latter years, many feel the need to prove that they can still do what they did when they were younger.
