Yeah, exclamination marks. I can't stand it when I read a traditionally published book by a writer with a top agent and a major publisher, where the rules are broken. I have been told more than once by editors etc., don't say 'then he turned', or...

Talking about exclamation marks, for years, I couldn't read Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None because there were so many exclamation marks, it felt like shouting in my head. Thankfully, Audible became popular because I listened to it...

Loved the spontaneity! (Now I'm self conscious about exclamation marks, and realise I used 2 in the previous post; take them how you will). Really resonated with the chronic illness theme, being disbelieved by doctors and going mad in a bedroom...
