• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

    This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

    Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

You might be interested in some stats regarding the number of visitors to Litopia.com (your new author platform :) )

Cloudflare, the company that provides us with some security services, keeps logs of “unique visitors”, i.e. a calculation of the number of real people who visit every day. This is not cumulative clicks – one person can of course click multiple times on a website – and it excludes bots, both search engine bots and the dreaded AI bots.

Data is shown graphically below, we’re now just shy of 50k visitors daily, most coming from the USA.

@AgentPete
Could I use this info in the marketing plan for my current non-fiction book proposal as potential reader reach? Or is it something you need to keep under wraps for now?
Yes, absolutely.

We had a spike yesterday (see screenshot) that gave us 85k unique visitors over 24 hours. I’ve never seen quite as many, which is encouraging.

That one spike would likely have been from a mention elsewhere (I would love to know where) and that gave us 36k uniques within the hour.

All this is measured by Cloudflare, and although I’m often sceptical about claimed website numbers, Cloudflare is the gold standard, they specialise in detecting and removing bots, so these stats can be regarded as genuine.

Amazing @AgentPete a huge well done. You clearly know a thing or two about marketing :)

If you find out where you are getting traffic from and how you got it then it would be brilliant if you share it with us. However, I would fully understand if you felt you wanted to ensure your own success by limiting that knowledge.
