After a 49-year wait, melodic progressive rock band Stoggam are finally releasing their début album, Expecting Different Results. The group originally formed in 1977 under the name Maggots and, although they never officially split, they spent nearly five decades quietly drifting in different directions while staying in touch.
Why does this matter to Litopians? Well, because the band’s guitarist is none of that Litopia’s very own @Jonny
I “went" to the single’s preview virtual launch last week, and enjoyed every moment. Musically, Expecting Different Results draws on the kind of ambitious, exploratory rock that was typical of Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, Weather Report and others. If those names don’t mean anything to you… you were probably not alive in the late ‘60’s
But if you like prog rock, have a listen. I think you’ll be blown away by the virtuoso guitarist!
