Service Update “My Books” Becomes “My Shop”…

We are nearing the end of (well, pretty close to) a major transition that’s taken place mostly behind the scenes.

For a while now, people have been asking about featuring and selling book-related items from their Author Profile, e.g. audiobooks, etc.

We’re not quite ready to unveil this yet, but your “My Books” section will soon become “My Shop”.

It sounds a simple change of name, but in fact there’s been a ton of work to do on this.

As I say, we’re not quite done yet, I’ll keep you posted.

Oh, my books have disappeared!
I assume they are still there somewhere.

Will there still be a place to feature items that aren't for sale, or are available elsewhere?

I'd like to have features about and links to my publications, but I'm not the one selling them, and some of them are free to access.

Your Shop is the probably place for that. Unlike blog posts, your shop is pretty static, i.e. it won’t change over time unless you do something such as withdraw an item.
There’s no requirement to have a “Buy” button, so it’s flexible enough to use in the way you want.
(And you can always change what the “Buy” button says, e.g. “Find Out More…”).

Understood, you’re using it partly as a portfolio. It will be flexible enough to do that, Also, you can call it whatever you want, “shop” will be in the url but it’s not a mandatory page description.
