Craft Chat An amazing question about superlatives

I'm noticing (In Pennsylvania bookstores) a growing number of titles with superlatives in them. Things like "The Best Puzzle Book Ever," or "One Hundred Extremely Fantastic Vegan Recipes." Has this always been the case? Is it just me catching on? Is this a case where too much is not enough?

I haven't noticed, but it's a bit arrogant of authors to say that, IMHO. How can they say that when everyone likes different things?

Are book titles the place for modesty. "A Pretty Good Puzzle Book," or "The Okay Recipes Cookbook" might not go over well either.

True, and there is probably a market out there of ppl who'll buy superlative titles because the internet has groomed people in 'the ten best...' scenarios and that's a similar concept.
