• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence

Hi everyone,

My name is Edmond Garcia. I'm an English speaker living in Spain, and I travel quite a lot. I've been meaning to find a good writing community for a while now--writing, editing, and working on your own can get lonely, so finding a group that understands that is really exciting to me.

I'm looking forward to diving into this community and contributing where I can. Thanks, and happy to be here!

Hi all! Sorry, everyone... it's holiday season over here, and we just got back from beautiful Toledo. Thank you so much for the kind words and welcomes from everyone!

Nice to meet you @Edmond Garcia
What are you writing about at the moment?

Thank you so much for your comment! I've actually just published a collection of short stories I've been writing for a few years now, so I'm taking a bit of a break now. I heard about Litopia and thought, why not? I've worked as editor-in-chief for a literary magazine for a while, so if I can help authors even a little, here or there, I'd be very happy!

Welcome aboard, @Edmond Garcia :) Whereabouts in Spain? City or country? We had a couple of Scottish writers living in Spain on here.
Hi! I'm currently in Zaragoza, it's to the north-east of Spain. I've recently been transferred from England to here, but there's a little bit of a questionable reaction to what they call "digital-nomads" here sometimes, ahaha, so I guess I've reflexively started calling myself an "English-Speaker"

Brilliant.
It will be great to get your input in the Lab.
