Too long? Unless you serialise it?
I did try that, but it’s really one story. To cut it in half, I’d have to find a satisfying ending for the first book, which means changing the story a lot. I guess it’s an option to rejig it all, but ugh. In any case, doesn’t hurt to try to cut what I can with it as is. I can always decide to rewrite it as 2 books after. But no idea how I’d do that right now.

If you can hook the reader with the first half, you can sell the 2nd half. . Give the first half free -make them pay for the ending? remember Dune was serialised in a magazine first,
