The task was use Donna Tart's opening sentence to her The Secret History by adding a second sentence to turn thus into your own story.
This month, dye to ties, we only have first and second place winners. Here are the results:
First Place:
We thought that killing her would draw a line under that whole ordeal but, instead, it opened a can of worms that were not only eating into her flesh, but demanding our own.

We were screwed because Bunny's body was well-preserved and the crime scene still intact.

It was the sun shining upon the steel-rimmed glasses, their folded arms splattered in blood, resting at the top of the ravine rather than beside the body at the bottom, that saw me pick up the stone and step towards the sergeant.
