• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence
    • Don't take offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Join our Weekly Writers’ Huddle this Saturday May 16th at 5.00pm UK (BST).

Hosted by top literary agent and bestselling author, Peter Cox. A.K.A @AgentPete :)

It’s a welcoming, practical space to bring your work in progress to get readers' honest first impressions and feedback in real time from the sharpest and most supportive literary group online. An experience which is invaluable and unique for you as a writer. Something that's extremely hard to come by anywhere else and all included at no additional cost as part of your Litopia membership.

But not just your works in progress. Query letters, book proposals, synopses and blurbs are all welcome. Also, anything you've spotted in the press or online that's relevant to the industry.

And of course Peter will be happy to answer any questions you might have. Ask him anything about publishing or the book world. He's a mine of information.

Submitting work is not mandatory as you're more than welcome to just come along and participate in the general discussion.

The only stipulation is that you must be a Full Colony Member. So if that's you and you'd like to attend, please add your name below to reserve a place.

You'll then be included in a Private Group found in the Huddle Hangout. You will only have access to the event once you are included in the private group. This will be created typically on the Thursday ahead of that week's event. On the day, join the Huddle using the Zoom link which will always be found in the 'sticky' at the top of the Huddle Hangout forum (link below). Then get ready to enjoy what's always a fun but informative session.

Oh no 😢 Sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather.
wasn't under the weather - was first sleepover with toddler grandson. I didn't sleep ALL night in case he squawked and I missed it. Didn't intend that, but sub-conscious was just on high alert, lol. Next day, CFS was in overdrive. Stayed in PJs all day. Couldn't string a sentence together. And body too painful to sit in chair for long. Oh the joys of old-age.

Oh blimey. It’s a hard job taking care of precious small humans! I know how tough CFS can be too, as my husband suffers xx

Back from seven days in Bruges and Paris and would love to join on Saturday, thank you Jonny! By the way, if anyone is in Paris before August, I can highly recommend the Lee Miller exhibit at the City of Paris Museum of Modern Art. It's intense, beautiful, painful and very in depth. We spent two hours there, which is rather long for my short attention span.

The agony and the ecstasy. But OHHHHH. Congratulations! Da Buberli! When is no. 2 coming?
