Hi everyone,
I’m a distinctly unknown literary fiction author based in Italy, and after a few years of navigating the publishing landscape here, I’ve decided to take a leap and transition into the English-speaking market.
To give you a bit of background, I have already published four books in Italy with independent presses. While it has been an invaluable learning experience that taught me the discipline of finishing and editing manuscripts, I’ve hit that frustrating "ceiling" that many authors face in smaller markets—where you constantly feel categorized as an emerging writer.
Right now, I’m working on a new psychological literary fiction novel, as well as a number of short stories, and I am translating my own work into English. I'm focusing my energy on finding the voice required for contemporary English literary fiction and shaking off any lingering translationese.
I joined Litopia to connect with fellow writers, get a realistic grip on how the UK/US system works, and hopefully share my own experiences with publishing and the creative process.
Looking forward to reading your work and getting to know this community!
